Organic Retreat at Nettus

Stay with us for an organic retreat at Nettus - a place to rest, be with Nature and enjoy access to organic and foraged food. Its name Nettus comes from the Suffolk dialect for ‘neat house’ which means cattle house. The building can be rented either as a self-contained cottage with 1 double bedroom or as a whole bungalow with 3 bedrooms that can accommodate small groups.

This self-catering organic retreat offers a sanctuary space to nourish body, mind and soul and is available for short or long stays. As part of your stay, we will provide a map of local farms and eateries where you can enjoy organic vegetables and fruits, and local specialities. We can also pre-order an organic box for your stay, which includes vegetables, fruits, pulses, grains and condiments.

From Nettus, you can enjoy open views of Timberyard Farm, country walks from your doorstep and excursions to the landscapes Suffolk coast, Snape Estuary and Maltings, Aldeburgh and other Suffolk market towns. You are also warmly invited to join the rhythm of hands-on experiences here at Timberyard Farm, including scything, foraging and artisan food preserving.

Nettus has an open plan layout of kitchen, living room with wood-stove, and dining room, which overlooks Timberyard Farm’s wildflower rich meadow on which sits a thriving historic Dovecote. There is one double bedroom, and two twin rooms, one of which can also be arranged as a double bedroom. We provide eco household products, toxin free wool carpets, and organic linen. There is an enclosed garden and patio space with mature cherry trees. The library includes a diverse range of books on ecology, art, food and culture, as well as novels and books on the local area.

Please contact us for further information on 07904333015 or via email connect@greatglemhamfarms.co.uk. Rental rates are variable and depend on season, number of people and length of stay. For short stays, we have a minimum 3-night booking.

The land is in organic conversion with the meadows grazed by sheep and woods maintained as wildlife habitats, so we are not able to welcome dogs to Nettus. The farm is also a no-smoking area.
